To apply as a participant in the GFS MasterClass, fill out the form below. We will then notify you if you have been selected for a Finalist Interview.
GFS MasterClass is designed for young filmmakers around the world, from 14-22 years of age. Applications are accepted throughout the year, on a rolling basis.
Each class lasts 1 hour, and is streamed live on Google+.
GFS MasterClass is hosted by Google+ technology. To participate, you will be required to have a Google+ account, and to add Ghetto Film School to your Google+ Circles. You are also expected to have access to the Internet, with a videochat-enabled computer (e.g., camera & microphone).
If you are accepted to participate, you will be expected to complete the following steps:
(1) A short creative exercise prior to the date of your MasterClass (specific instructions will be provided in official notification email)
(2) Sign a release granting GFS permission to promote you and your work
(3) Participate in a 1 hour “test class” the day before your MasterClass
(4) Be available for 1 hour of technical preparation on the day of your MasterClass, before class starts
After the conclusion of each MasterClass, student participants will have one month (4 weeks) to create independent 2-minute short films.
Once complete, these projects will be submitted to GFS for review, and then shared with the global MasterClass audience.
By applying to GFS MasterClass, you agree to complete your short film to specification and by deadline, as required.
