CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
Honoring Ghetto Film School's 20th anniversary by presenting stories and art that reflect our evolution as an organization
GHETTO FILM SCHOOL TURNS 20
For our 20th Anniversary, GFS is reflecting on the moments, the people, and the art that define our journey, and address the question of "what does it mean to be an artist right now?", in their own unique ways.
Our mission at GFS is to educate, develop, and celebrate the next generation of great American storytellers. Now more than ever, we are asking ourselves what our young people have to say, and how an emerging artist can respond to the current moment. Since it was founded in 2000, Ghetto Film School has equipped thousands of students in New York, Los Angeles and London for careers in the creative industries through a 100% free, intensive, film education program for high school students, and early-career support for alumni and young artists.
Starting now, every month during our 20th year, GFS will be presenting stories and art that reflect our evolution as an organization, and the roles of an artist through the last two decades. Dr. Antonio's class is the first of these.
Watch this space every month for
20 moments from our history
20 stories from our Fellows and Roster Members
20 GFS films and creative works
We look forward to sharing these with you throughout the year, and thank you for being a part of our journey.
