On November 5, 2018 Ghetto Film School honored Michael B. Jordan, Melina Matsoukas, and Courteney Monroe. The evening was hosted by GFS board member James Murdoch at his beautiful home in Beverly Hills.

Introducing and presenting Michael, Melina, and Courteney with the evening's honor were Ghetto Film School students Ariel Hyman and Sarah Williams, and GFS alum Moises Marquez.

Additional guests included Ghetto Film School founder Joe Hall, Robert De Niro (The Irishman), Jamie Hector (The Wire), Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright and performer Sarah Jones, Malcolm Mays (Snowfall), David O. Russell (Joy), John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood), Lena Waithe (Master of None), Vice Media founder, Shane Smith, Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) and other renowned GFS supporters in the entertainment industry.

London students traveled to Los Angeles this past August to produce their International Thesis Film, Chris' Casting Call. During the program we shared a new promo about the project. The promo was created by London students Tony Fernandes and Rajveer Kooner.

Many thanks to all our sponsors, in particular Visionary sponsor, Amazon Studios, and Champion sponsors, Black Bicycle Entertainment, Imagine Television, SAG-AFTRA, STX Entertainment, The Seelig Group, and The Walt Disney Studios. Thank you to 21st Century Fox, our core operating supporter and Founding Partner of GFS LA.
