Neil Butler

Production Manager, GFS LA

Neil is a filmmaker, writer, and educator who has worked in the realms of development and production for more than two decades. His short film "Herzog & Morris" premiered at BendFilm in Oregon and won the Audience Award for Best Short at the Tallahassee Film Festival in Florida and runner up in the Best of PsychoFest program at WIFF in Wisconsin. He also co-directed the short film "My Psychedelic Summer" and the musical feature "Lewis & Klarq."

He's ecstatic to be back in film school at GFS after having originally graduated from Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts back in the mid-90's. He was recently designated as a Bloomberg Tech Fellow to oversee the Digital Accelerator Program for GFS, a multi-year initiative from Bloomberg Philanthropies to help arts organizations invest in strategic improvements to their technology infrastructure. In his role as Production Manager, Neil is excited to share his expertise with the next generation of great storytellers and to learn from them in turn.
